Stuck Before I've Even Started... Hello!

Hello! A quick introduction first... I'm Ana, and for the next six weeks, I'm going to be working on my foundation portfolio, which will be a movie opening. What is it going to be about? I don't know yet, still trying to figure that out. I'm stuck before I've even started.
My inner, creative thought wheels have been turning for months now but so far I've had no luck. I think I need to narrow down my options a lot. Firstly, I don't have the resources to having any major special effects, so action and adventure films are out of question. I also don't have many people that would be willing to take part in my project, so I need to think of a very small cast. What I've been considering is the drama genre, because I can work with just one or two characters easily. I have to narrow down what type of drama film I would want to do, and I need to do it quickly. Drama films are serious (unless it is a comedic drama) and realistic. They portray characters in some sort of conflict whether it be with themselves or someone/something else.
I think that if in the coming days, I really sit down and try to come up with a good story, I can definitely pull this off and make it a great film opening. I could work the plot around my problem of not having enough friends that would be willing to be actors/actresses for me.
So now I'm on the hunt for some inspiration. My mind could definitely change since this is sort of a decision that I'm making as I type and my brain thinks of various options, but I think I want a Nicholas Sparks movies kind of vibe. The 'alone in the world' kind of theme is really speaking to me, and I wouldn't need more than one person to agree to act for me! I also really enjoy the voice overs most of his book adaptation films have during the opening scenes. It makes the tone of the scene a lot more dramatic.
The film opening in The Choice (2016) kind of encompasses what I think I'm going to do. Of course, the stories would be completely different, but I really enjoy the nature shots, along with one lone person and the voice over, and I think I will use these traits in my own film opening.
Apart from that, I'm still kind of stumped. While I do believe I can blow it out of the park, I'm kind of at a dent in the road before the road has really started. I just need to sit, think this through, and come up with something that will work with what I want and need. I think I'll be okay.
Thanks for reading my first post, see you in a day or two! :)
